About the Program

English Preparatory Program the English Preparatory Program (EPP) plays a vital role in preparing students for undergraduate studies at ACM. Through the provision of intensive English language instruction by means of a carefully designed curriculum, students’ needs are meticulously addressed to ensure academic success at undergraduate level. EPP is a full-year program, which focuses on developing students’ language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking as well as on associated grammar and vocabulary encountered in academic discourse.

A learner-centered approach is employed whereby students participate in extensive language practice through theme-based units and develop critical thinking skills under the supervision and guidance of highly qualified instructors. EPP students are supported through the Academic Excellence Center, Tutoring Center and e-Learning resources. EPP further facilitates students’ character development and promotes autonomous learning which are fundamental to enabling undergraduate studies.

Math for Engineering Technology Programs

MA153 – College Algebra This is an introductory course in algebra that is designed to familiarize learners with:

  • Exponents and radicals
  • Algebraic and fractional expressions
  • Equations and inequalities
  • Systems of linear equations
  • Polynomial, exponential, and logarithmic functions

MA158 – Pre-Calculus: Functions & Trigonometry This course is designed to develop an understanding of topics that are fundamental to the study of Calculus. The Pre-Calculus topics are designed to fully prepare students for all first semester calculus courses. Topics cover the following functions:

  • Quadratic
  • Higher Order Polynomial
  • Rational
  • Exponential and Logarithmic
  • Trigonometric
